Women having babies in their 40's and beyond has been one of the most important societal transformations in recent decades. Statistically the number of women in this category has increased significantly while the birth rate has declined for other age categories. And this trend shows no sign of slowing as women in greater numbers continue to pursue higher education and careers while delaying marriage and childbirth.

Recently I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Dr. Veronica who is exploring motherhood in her 40’s. Like many mature women who come to my practice, she wants first to see if there is anything she can do to enhance her chances of getting pregnant the “old fashioned” way, but if she does need help, to be able to use her own eggs.
